The product highlighted here was designed for use as impact box in an automotive application, and featured dimensions of 8" in height, 4" in width, and 4" deep. This project required not only our assembly services, but special coating and packaging. It also called for the design of an intricate rack system to ensure uniform coating of the interior areas of the box.

The coating process consisted of cleaning and rinsing, followed by the application of a PPG pre-treatment, zinc phosphate, and a sealer. This was followed by the application of a BASF E-Coat, a post rinse and oven curing. The finished part is black in finish with a minimum coating thickness of 21 microns. The parts were also subject to pre-production and post-production inspections. Parts are then assembled with a plastic cap. Finished parts are packaged into cell pack hand totes and delivered according to JIT schedule.

We currently assemble and coat 6000 of these impact boxes per day; this exemplifies our ability to provide high volume precision assembly and coating services, as well as our ability to develop custom projects.
